Cost and types of trips

The cost of your trip will depend on the type of trip you want to take.  There are basically 3 kinds of trips:

1. Work/Service Project.  The cost is $200 per person plus $500-$700 (this portion covers all meals/transportation/housing, etc. while you are in Zimbabwe and is determined by your trip leader and our HVCM staff depending on the time of travel). Arranging airfare will be your responsibility and typically runs $1500 - $3000 per person.  In addition, your group will need to raise whatever funds are needed for your particular project. This trip includes, among other things, an unforgettable safari. 

2. VBS/Evangelistic Trip.  The cost is $200 per person plus $500-$700 (this portion covers all meals/transportation/housing, etc. while you are in Zimbabwe and is determined by your trip leader and our HVCM staff depending on the time of travel). Arranging airfare will be your responsibility and typically runs about $2000 per person.  In addition, your group will need to gather and bring over materials for your crafts as well as provide bread/biscuits/drinks for the children for each day of your VBS. This trip includes, among other things, an unforgettable safari.

3. Mission Tour & Site Seeing Trip.  The cost will be determined based on the itinerary of your trip.  A typical trip can include several days at Victoria Falls, The Great Zimbabwe Ruins as well as a Safari, golf, shopping and more. The high point of the trip will include an up close look and guided tour of Hippo Valley Christian Mission!  You will spend time with the precious children in our orphan work as well as visiting some of our schools, churches, and clinics.

what else do I need to know?

Prior to coming, your group will decide on a project.  Whatever the cost to complete your project will need to be covered by your team.  For example, if you are doing a VBS, your team will need to gather and provide all of the supplies needed.  If you are doing a painting project, the team will need to raise the funds ahead of time so that we can wire the money to Zimbabwe and have the paint waiting for you when you arrive.
